Why Changes Made in Visual Merchandiser Aren't Showing on Your Storefront

If you have recently reorganized your collection using the Visual Merchandiser app but do not see these changes reflected on your store's public-facing pages, please don't worry. The following steps will help you diagnose the issue.

Verifying Changes in Shopify Admin

The first step is to check if the changes you made in the Visual Merchandiser are reflected within your Shopify admin. Follow these steps to do this:

  1. Go to your Shopify admin panel.
  2. Navigate to 'Products' and then click on 'Collections.'
  3. Select the collection you modified using Visual Merchandiser.
  4. Check if the order of the products within this collection matches the order in Visual Merchandiser.

If the order matches, the issue might be due to a third-party app or custom JavaScript within your theme that is overriding the order.

Identifying Third-party Interference

Your store might have third-party apps installed or custom JavaScript code added to your theme that manipulates the order of products in your collections. If this is the case, these could be interfering with the changes made by Visual Merchandiser. You may need to disable these apps or scripts or configure them to not interfere with your collections' product order.

Trying Incognito Window

Sometimes, cached data on your web browser can prevent you from seeing the most recent changes to your store. Opening your store in an incognito or private browsing window can help avoid this issue. Follow these steps to open an incognito window:

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, click the More button (three vertical dots).
  3. Click 'New Incognito Window'.
  4. Enter your store's URL in the address bar and press Enter.

About Visual Merchandiser

It's important to note that Visual Merchandiser does not modify your theme or directly change the appearance of your store. Instead, the app interacts with Shopify's Collection API to adjust the manual sort order of your products within a collection. This means that Visual Merchandiser only changes the order in which your products are displayed, not how they are displayed.

Please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you need further assistance with this issue. We're here to help ensure your Visual Merchandiser experience is as smooth and beneficial as possible.
